Mercury Crosses the Sun on Wednesday
Heads up everyone! A pretty spectacular event is going to take place on Wednesday, Mercury will transit across the Sun, and if you have the right kind of telescope you will be able to watch it!
Right now is an interesting time for Mercury, first of all, Mercury is in retrograde. Retrograde can be a trying time since everything in life seems to “run backwards” during this strange time when Mercury actually does appear to “move backwards” in the sky. During retrograde, make sure you have your t’s crossed and your i’s dotted that’s for sure! Preparation is the #1 lesson that a retrograde Mercury has to teach us; those who fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Retrograde Mercury is clearly a lesson and learning period from the universe.
Now things start to get tricky because not only is Mercury in retrograde, but it’s going to be crossing the sun. This event will tend to exaggerate the effects of a retrograde Mercury. On the 8th it is wise to give yourself extra time to get where you are going, and don’t sign papers or pay bills on the 8th if you can help it (unless of course you have a legal or financial obligation that cannot be avoided without penalties); the rule of the 8th is: if it’s something that can wait till the 9th, let it ride till’ the 9th.
To dispel any additional exaggeration of Mercury on the 8th, take a bath using fresh rosemary and burn a red and black candle.

Ahhhhh……Mercury in retrograde. That’s a recipe for a lot of broken dishes in my house.
Can’t we attach a rubber band to that planet?
And, never mind waiting until the 9th…….I’m waiting until the 18th when Mercury is no longer in it’s pulled back space.
I’d love to take a bath in Rosemary and burn a red and black candle, but with the way things go during these “Retrograde Tirades” that Mercury goes into…….I’m afraid of buring the house down!
Back to my broken dishes.

Hmm.. why yes, waiting out the entire retrograde is usually the best policy, if the situation or decision can be delayed by then. Mercury crossing in front of the sun like that, and in retrograde — well don’t be surprised if a china cabinet falls over, which is why mine gets covered in a blanket and put off-limits to the family during retrogrades! lol.
